I used my 50mm lens to take these two shots last night, I don’t think Harriet even noticed as she was so engrossed!

Richard’s daughter wants to be a Vet when she is older so we thought a day as a keeper at Wetheriggs Animal Rescue Centre, Penrith would be a great introduction to working with a wide variety of animals. Our £35 donation helps Wetheriggs and Harriet gets to spend the day with a wide variety animals, [...]

Harry ( aka harrywarry, harrypups, puppy) the Airedale has a sore paw and had to have a trip to the vets this morning. Turns out a cut just above his paw pads has been infected so he is on Antibiotics and has his lower leg bandaged up. After an hour he stopped trying to kick [...]

I sort of had the afternoon off but not really, I had various admin jobs and phone calls to catch up on this morning before getting out. Richard’s 12 yr old Daughter, Harriet, is with us for a few days so we thought some good old fashioned Cumbrian air would do her good and headed [...]

I had a great interview on BBC Radio Cumbria this afternoon just after 2.30pm with Tom Hourigan about Twitter and how it’s had positive influence on my photography work. Although Twitter and other networking sites are not as positive for some businesses as reported in the Press today. I do think business owners can benefit [...]

I headed south out of Cumbria into Lancashire earlier today for a photography job, I stopped off in Morecambe on the way home to walk along the sea front and take a few photos of the boats. It was a nice day, it was very cloudy but the sun wasn’t too far behind the clouds [...]

On the way home I popped into Rheged. The amount of cars in car park suggested it was very busy, hardly a space to be found in the more rugged overflow car park further down the hill and, surprise, surprise, it was raining! The Autumn fair at Rheged was very busy, as soon as I [...]
Keswick and Castlerigg Rainy Stones
Posted in General Photo Category. on October 24, 2009 | 3 Comments »
We had a trip to Keswick this morning, not for anything in particular just a mooch around the shops and market. It was dry and cloudy when we left Hutton-in-the-Forest but when we arrived in Keswick it was heavy rain and it didn’t let up once. There were lots of people in Keswick this morning, [...]

This month’s edition of Lake District/ Lancashire Life feature some of my sunrise shots taken earlier this year. It is always nice to get publicity for my photography but shame there are so many inaccuracies with the piece, on page 6 of the editor’s welcome they use one of sunrise shots from Nichol End on [...]

I really wish we had more light before 7am because walking the dogs in the darkness isn’t much fun. I’ve had a couple of winter-darkness-dog-walking ideas and ordered 3 flashing collar lights from Lakes Bush Craft These flashing lights will help me find the Airedales in the darkness in the woods ( I hope!) so [...]
