Arbroath based Mike has been a BASC member for over 14 years. I asked Mike what the BASC had done for him, Mike said, “The BASC are always there for me.  I know I can pick up the phone to speak to someone when I need advice or help on a particular issue. They are the one true voice of shooting and conservation in the UK.”

Over the past few years Mike has been involved with the Scottish Mink Initiative and is interested to tackle other invasive species such as the grey squirrel.

Mike said, “I am keen to fight the corner for BASC members in Scotland and promote the introduction of youngsters to the countryside especially through shotgun coaching.  As a BASC shotgun coach I like to get involved and enjoy teaching at Game fairs. The youngsters are our future and it is important for them to be given the opportunities to take part.”

Mike is standing for election to the BASC Council, click here for more information.
